Race Day in SoHo: Gotham Ducati's COTA MotoGP Watch Party at Ducati New York

There's a difference between watching MotoGP alone on the couch and watching it surrounded by Desmosedici-obsessed Ducatisti in a room full of the real thing. On Saturday, March 28, the Gotham Ducati DOC family chose the second option, gathering at the Ducati New York showroom on Avenue of the Americas for a COTA watch party as the season's American round unfolded at Circuit of The Americas.

Race Day in SoHo: Gotham Ducati's COTA MotoGP Watch Party at Ducati New YorkIt made for a fitting full-circle moment. Just days earlier, members had been at The Edge at Hudson Yards for VR46's special United States Grand Prix livery reveal — and now we were watching that same pop-art machine carve through the Texas heat live, cheering it on from Lower Manhattan. Surrounded by the showroom floor's Panigales, Diavels, and Multistradas, the club traded predictions on the Ducati contingent, talked lines and lap times, and reacted to every pass together the way only a room full of riders can.

Race day at the dealership has become one of the better traditions on the Gotham calendar — Italian engineering on the screens, Italian engineering parked all around you, and the DOC family in one place to share it. The bikes on the floor were the road-going cousins of what we were watching; the connection between Borgo Panigale's racing program and the machines in our garages has rarely felt closer.

One of our DOC member's Peter picked up his gorgeous new V2 Streetfighter at the event as well.

By the checkered flag, the verdict was unanimous: MotoGP is better watched with the family. Thanks to everyone who came out, and to Ducati New York for the room. On to the next round.
